The Battle of Hastings 1066 — On 14 October 1066 William, Duke of Normandy, defeated King Harold II at the Battle of Hastings, one of the defining battles in English history.
History behind the design
The fighting followed Harold's rapid march south after victory at Stamford Bridge and ended with the collapse of the English army and the Norman road to the crown.
