Edward the Black Prince — Edward of Woodstock, later known as the Black Prince, was one of the most famous English commanders of the Hundred Years' War.

History behind the design

He fought at Crécy in 1346 and commanded the English-led force that defeated and captured King John II of France at Poitiers in 1356.
